Why create an ARKx profile?
The ARKx Network is creating an online profile network and map to connect all manner of agroforestry farms, projects, programs and resources. This is more than just a directory; profiles on this website can be searched by type, agroforestry practice, region and state. This is to enable site visitors to explore local and regional resources, connect and network with other agroforesters, and learn more about the many different ways that agroforestry is implemented across the United States.
You may wish to create a profile if you want to share your agroforestry project, create more visibility for your farm or project or share your knowledge with the wider network. If you want to represent your agroforestry project without including specific location or contact information, you are welcome to create an agroforestry project profile, where you can share your agroforestry acres, summary, practices and goals.
Please note that in the near future, Catalyzing Agroforestry will be creating a national agroforestry map that will include public agroforestry resources like partners, demonstration sites, grant and funding opportunities, and planting stock nurseries, and only public farms that wish to be included.
Creating a profile
The form linked below collects information necessary to create a public ARKx profile. These profiles allow searching by region or state, agroforestry practice, keywords. Participation is completely voluntary, and we are dedicated to making this process easy and protecting your information should you choose to share it for this purpose.
ARKx Event Calendar
If you are an Agroforestry Partner, Group or Demonstration Site, you are welcome to add relevant events to our ARKx Event Calendar. Visit the calendar on the home page and click the + symbol to add your event directly or, email info@appalachianforestfarmers.org with event details.
Changing/Removing an Agroforestry Profile
If at any time you wish to change or remove your profile, please contact the ARKx Team at info@appalachianforestfarmers.org and request removal with the subject line “ARKx PROFILE REMOVAL”.
How to make an ARKx Profile:
1. Fill out this google form
2. Select the best profile type to describe your operation.
3. Please be sure to include at least one image
4. Your profile will be posted at the discretion of the ARKx team
Profile Types:
1. Agroforestry Profile or Project
Agroforestry profile shares farm name, contact information, agroforestry details and links. Agroforestry projects, share less information: only agroforestry details as provided in the form. Example: “Forest Farming Project; Tree County, VA”.
2. Demonstration Site
Agroforestry demonstration sites that have public hours or appointments available who may also host agroforestry events. These are welcome on our ARKx calendar.
3. Planting Stock Nursery
Public profile for agroforestry planting stock nurseries who offer various levels of bulk or wholesale stock for agroforestry projects. Nursery and planting stock information only, no prices will be shared on the website.
4. Agroforestry Partner Profile
Public profile for agroforestry partners including groups, organizations, coalitions and networks across the United States.
5. Grants, Funding and Programs
Public profile for Agroforestry grants, funding opportunities or programs. Information, contact, dates and details.
